DISC stands for:

  • Dominance – how you address problems
  • Influence – how you handle situations involving people

Everybody is made up of varying percentages of D,I,S,and C. The idea behind learning the language of disc is to learn your style of communication. then, once you understand how you communicate you will be able to blend your communication style to have better employee motivation and compliance; more business closings which will lead to more income; and better personal relationships. Three Objectives of Behaviors

DISC Assessments help you understand why people behave in certain ways. This can be broken down into the three objectives of behaviors:

  1. Identify and understand your style
  2. Identify, understand, and appreciate people who have different styles
  3. Develop a process to communicate with different styles (learn how to adapt to other’s styles)

It’s important to stop here and note the limitations of DISC. While it’s a great tool for understanding communication styles and behavioral metrics of all types, DISC does not measure:
